    100 years ago this week - the end of the 151st

    6th - 12th June 1918 After their almost complete wipe out in the disastrous fighting on the river Aisne on 27th May, the remnants of the 3 battalions of the 151st Brigade of the 50th Northumbrian Division / Durham Light Infantry were reformed into what was then called the 151st Battalion. The 151st did one tour of duty in the line, near Bligny, between 6th and 12th June, but then had to be disbanded as it was realised there were not enough men to constitute a viable fighting
